Located in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, China, the Poly Center Art Gallery is a testament to Luo Yan's commitment to integrating art into everyday life. The gallery, completed in May 2019, spans a generous 960 square meters, offering ample space for artistic exploration and appreciation. The design is characterized by its modern simplicity, soft colors, and interesting art decorations, creating an enchanting and dreamy kingdom of art.
The gallery's unique design was inspired by the theme of a "Fairytale Town", featuring works by artist Jia Xiaoou. The artist's rich imagination and vibrant colors are introduced into the bright space, providing relaxing and pleasant experiences in the artistic living scene. The space is designed to be a dialogue with nature, enveloped in a glass box with bamboo forests growing in between, allowing natural light and views to complement the interior artistic atmosphere.
One of the unique features of the gallery is its glass facade, which allows natural light to flood the space, enhancing the artistic atmosphere. The interior is devoid of excessive decoration, with a black rabbit sculpture on the marble counter adding a touch of humor to the otherwise serene space. The negotiation area is equipped with a dark grey sofa, side chair, and end table, with other furnishings such as art decorations, screen, and paintings in bright colors like smoke pink, light blue, and ivory white to warm the space and warm people up.
According to Luo Yan, the design of the gallery was a challenge as it was important to create a space that allows people to experience art and beauty in an intimate way. The result is a casual and free atmosphere that provides an experience full of vitality and enthusiasm. In this fairytale town, colorful ribbons are reflected in the running water where the cobblestones are big and round. Light jellyfish float in the air, creating a dreamy atmosphere under the light and shadows.
The Poly Center Art Gallery is a testament to Luo Yan's innovative approach to design and her commitment to integrating art into everyday life. The gallery has been recognized for its unique design, winning the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
